Victorian Cancer Trials Link
The Victorian Cancer Trials Link (VCTL) is a searchable database of all cancer clinical trials being conducted in Victoria. It can be used by both consumers and clinicians. CLICK HERE for more details.
Victoria's Cancer Action Plan 2008-2011
VCAP sets out four action areas for cancer reform. One of these action areas relates to cancer research.
Action Area 2: ensuring rapid translation of research into effective treatments and clinical care
Priorities include:
- building research capacity
- linking cancer research to clinical outcomes
- development institutional structures to facilitate cancer research
- increasing the proportion of patients enrolled in clinical trials
SMICS is working with the Monash Institute of Medical Research, the Immunotherapy Program at Austin Hospital, the Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine Department of Monash University, General Medicine at Souther Health and the Oncology Unit at Cabrini Health, to consider research priorities for southern Melbourne and how they align with the above VCAP priorities.
